co worker
A co worker asked me how I was doing today. With humour in my voice I replied to her that I am "surviving my life." I know that she is doing just the same because she told me about her work-a-holic husband and her smart children and her messy house. She too is surviving. She seems used to being alone though. Can a person get used to that?

but i know i am not "used to it," as you say. though, i have always been that way.

i don't think you ever get used to being lonely. but i do think that one can forget, that they are. i think this woman has perhaps forgotten.
